Walesby Forest
This is a huge campsite in the Sherwood Forest, near Nottingham. It has a wide range of on-site activities, including its own lake for water activities, it’s ideally situated for Sherwood Pines for mountain biking, and there are various hiking routes available straight from the campsite. On the weekends in the summer they generally have one huge campfire, to which all on-site are invited. There is a leader’s bar with enclosed beer garden.
We’ve been there with both Cubs and Scouts several times and have never been disappointed. They run a bonfire camp in November, which offers free camping to those who’ve camped there before.
