Border Hike 2023
109th Countesthorpe and Leire & Dunton Scouts teamed up again this year to attend Border Hike. They camped together, Countesthorpe entering three teams, Leire & Dunton entering one. Border Hike is an annual incident hike competition based at Gradbach Scout Campsite in the Peak District – teams of Scouts are challenged to complete the hike totally unaided by Leaders, completing tasks at bases along the route.
This year, Countesthorpe’s teams were placed a fantastic fourth, seventh and twelfth, while Leire & Dunton were placed fifth. Excellent results considering they were up against teams from the local area who were far more accustomed to hiking in the hilly terrain.
